Football Philosophy
Football is taught as a game of technique, intelligence, and teamwork. Players are encouraged to think on the ball, understand their role within the team, and compete with discipline and respect for the game.
Development Philosophy
Development is progressive and age-appropriate, moving from fundamental movement and enjoyment of the game toward technical mastery, tactical understanding, and competitive performance.
Faith and Character
The academy's motto, “In God We Trust,” reflects a belief that character, humility, and integrity matter as much as football ability. Players are encouraged to carry discipline and respect beyond the pitch.
Academy History
Manuel Soccer Link Academy (MASLA) was founded with a vision to identify, develop, and promote talented footballers while building strong character, discipline, and integrity. Guided by our motto, “In God We Trust,” the academy is committed to helping young players achieve success both on and off the pitch.
Since its establishment, MASLA has created opportunities for talented players to pursue professional football careers locally and internationally. One of the academy's notable achievements was successfully securing Uruguay visas for former Ghana U-20 striker Samuel Atta Mensah on two occasions — first in 2019 and again in 2023. These opportunities enabled him to travel to Uruguay for trials with Club Atlético Peñarol and Club Nacional de Football, two of the country's most prestigious clubs. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted football activities and prevented the trials from progressing as planned.
Despite those setbacks, Samuel Atta Mensah continued his professional journey. He later joined Colón F.C. in Uruguay. He now plays as a midfielder for Fountain City Athletic, a United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) club based in Kansas City, Missouri, demonstrating the academy's commitment to opening international pathways for talented players.
Samuel Atta Mensah (born 10 December 1999) is a Ghanaian footballer. During his youth career as a striker, he represented All Stars F.C. and was recognized by the British newspaper The Guardian as one of the 60 best young football talents in the world.
At MASLA, we remain dedicated to developing the next generation of footballers by providing quality training, international exposure, and opportunities to reach the highest level of the game.
